Meet a procrastinator Me! After years of struggling to live with schedules and to-do lists, I began discovering how to get things done without forcing myself into a structure I couldn't live with. This book is the result. People like me (and perhaps you) who thrive on flexibility and spontaneity sometimes give up on time management because all that structure simply doesn't work for us. Dreams go unfulfilled, chaos takes over, and we resign ourselves to a life that is less than we hoped for. The new approach presented in this book begins with just five minutes a day spent focusing on what you want most from life. You'll learn how to simplify tasks that seem overwhelming, balance your life and make time for the people who are important to you. There are practical tips to manage your home and daily routine better, links to useful websites, and a host of other information to guide you on your way to the life you've dreamed of.

Five Minutes a Day Time Management for People Who Love to Put Things Off Jean Reynolds PhD 9781478292067 Books Reviews

  • Jean Reynolds has definitely captured my procrastination problem in her Five Minutes a Day. Like Jean, I am one of those put-it-off types (MBTI perceiving). And my husband, like Jean’s, is a get-it-done type (MBTI judging).

I am such a procrastinator that I bought this book a couple of years ago and have been procrastinating reading it. So I decided to honor Jean’s book by putting her methods to work and reading it “five minutes a day.”

There are a few important projects that I have been putting off — some unpleasant ones like organizing my closet and throwing away stuff I haven’t used in years, and a couple of special ones, like learning a new guitar piece as well as a writing project I've been putting off.

But for Jean, my first five minutes a day will be spent writing a review of her charming and helpful book.

I highly recommend this book, which is easy and fun to read and packed full of helpful ideas for moving a project from the mind to the hands. And getting it done.
  • Concise and spot on!
  • Five Minutes a Day is written in a down-to-earth style that makes it easy for anyone to follow and understand. The ideas and suggested ways to get started with that overwhelming project you've been putting off forever are simple and yet profound. The humor the author uses as she pokes fun at herself, made me relax and realize I'm not the only procrastinaor out there and I'm really not such a lazy person after all. It's the best book I've ever read on how to manage my time.
  • If you're the put-it-off type, you will greatly benefit from reading this book and following the advice given by one who admits being a procrastinator. "Five Minutes A day" is well written and easy to read with good ideas, quick fixes, tools, and systems for managing activity. My favorite part of the book is part III, "How to Change Your Life" (become more productive and happier).
